Adult children.

Earlier this week, at the request of Repo, I sent out a promotional bulletin on Myspace. I wanted to see if I could get people together to go. The person who answered my post was the kid from the LAST LJ post. I couldn't think of a nice way to tell him "My friend with who I am going will lost her tolerance with you and kill you quickly." So, I refused as follows...

Me: I'm trying to get a group together to meet up in Pitt, and I need them to drive themselves!

Him: Alright, I get the hint. Guess I'm out, maybe specify details next time.
(yes, he's TELLING me how to post.)

ME: It's kind of a date. Having tagalongs in the car wouldn't help. ;)

Him: well, i am glad you view me as no more than a "TAG A LONG" my opion on you is a rather high one as well.

My response: that was an attempt to kindly explain my refusal to have you along was not to be taken personally. Frankly, of late, you've been continuously beligerant and argumentative with me. I do not have time or energy to give to people who insist on communicating in the way you consistently do. I do not appruciate your attitude, and I really do not appriciate you telling my mother nonsensical lies about Sarah. We aren't dating, but I respect her and will not stand for her being demonized. At this time, I am severing our communication until such time as you learn how to speak respectfully to people. Other people in your life may tolerate it, but I will not. I hope you are able to resolve your anger issues. Good luck.

He then EMAILS me, because I have blocked him. I read it because the subject is "I am sorry" and I felt maybe I was a little harsh.

Him: look crystal i am sorry you feel that way but the truth is i have never spoken a bad word about Sarah she is the only person i have ever seen fit to think of as a role model for myself i actually have always liked her way better than you and loads of people what ever your mother told you is a lie and of course you arent going to believe me but oh well i will deal the only problem i have had with you as of late is you talk down to me like i am a slow learner and treat me like a low person when he reality is your no better than anyone i mean your obviousley not wealthy i mean you live with your mom and are in your 30's i mean hello and you work at walmart so get off your high horse and come down to earth sweety!!!!

My response: I asked you not to contact me. Seeing that you have failed to respect even that request, I have to assume you are, in fact, a slow learner. I will not address your remarks about my station- your issues with class are your own. I am repeating my request for you to negate contact. Do not write. Do not call. Do not come by. Failure to comply with these requests will result in legal action. Thank you.

Was I out of line at any point, guys?

There But For The Grace of my Gods Go I

There is this boy I know- I’ve known him since he was a baby. Let me tell you, for those people who feel being born gay is nonsense, I wish I’d taped this kid growing up. He was the GAYest little kid ever, and grew into a very gay young man.

Due to his upbringing, he has many issues, like most people growing up here do. He has a lot of anger and left his mother’s house and moved in with his father, who sometimes beats him a little for being gay. I have tried to encourage him- point out ways he could get out of this life he’s in, and tonight, the normal conversation took a few interesting turns. I was forced to realize that this could have easily been me. I could have been this disgusted with life, this broken and sad, at the age of 19! I know who my patrons are, and I thank them tonight for the people they’ve brought into my life who have enriched it, the lessons- even the painful ones- that have made me who I am, and for whatever core of me they had a hand in that does not let defeat like this claim me. And I thank myself for being able to be worth it.

“[20:58] straight_people_bite: hello
[20:58] suntree_girl: heya
[20:59] straight_people_bite: how r u? also are you able to talk?
[20:59] suntree_girl: I’ll be slow, but sure
[20:59] straight_people_bite: okay
[21:00] straight_people_bite: so my cat ate my cordy figures head and now i have her head popped off and need a new head also i got a really good deal today i bought a silver ps2 with a paddle for only 20 bucks !!!!
[21:01] straight_people_bite: now i have two ps2 and need to sell one
[21:01] suntree_girl: sounds cool to have
[21:02] straight_people_bite: well yeah but i am pmpulsive and when i have money i dont know the word conserve at all
[21:02] straight_people_bite: impulsive
[21:03] suntree_girl: you need to learn it~!
[21:03] straight_people_bite: lol i know
[21:03] straight_people_bite: now i only have thirty left and 15 goes for p/o fees and 15 for fines
[21:03] straight_people_bite: what a shame
[21:04] suntree_girl: have you thought about getting a job or going to school or something?
[21:04] straight_people_bite: well i applied at mcdonalds and i will never go back to school i am just not the kinda person who goes back to school once i get my ged that is good enough for me
[21:05] suntree_girl: I really don’t know how to empahsise enough that you will never have anything better out of your life than this fucking town that you’ve known till now unless you get some higher learning.
[21:05] suntree_girl: education is so important- not just for job skills, but for networking and socialization
[21:07] straight_people_bite: i am not stupid and i am not just another redneck in u-ville and i watched a show where they did a study of ppl who didnt grad and ppl who did and they actually found more drop outs who have better paying jobs than someone who did grad
[21:07] straight_people_bite: but it is just a study
[21:07] straight_people_bite: so i mean it prob isnt 100% accuarate
[21:07] suntree_girl: studies are important, but you have to consider the context- did the people who dropped out get on the job rtraining?
[21:08] straight_people_bite: well some of the drop outs really jusy applied at jobs and then were hired
[21:08] suntree_girl: you are young, and have so many oppertiunities. you could study in another coutnry, you could go away anywhere to college, you could do ALL sorts of internships because you only have to pay for yourself
[21:08] straight_people_bite: it wasnt like they went through a course to do the job or ne thing
[21:09] straight_people_bite: i dont have the funds or the transportation to do all those wonderful things so i am not going to build my self up just for an even higher fall
[21:09] suntree_girl: and when you compare thier salary in several years to someone with a degree, you will see a very, very large gap in finance.
[21:10] straight_people_bite: because i live in the real world i am not ever going to be a college grad i just dont have the money or straight a grades for a scholarship
[21:10] suntree_girl: there’s a way. if you went away to school (you CAN get loans to live on) you could live on campus and bike to school or walk.
[21:10] straight_people_bite: well never thought of it that way
[21:11] suntree_girl: Really, because, I’m doing it- it’s a good thing I don’t think like that.
[21:11] suntree_girl: I know- the thing is, there’s a way. if you want something badly enough, there’s a way. and you will meet the most amazing people in the educated community
[21:11] straight_people_bite: well i dont know what you mean exactley
[21:12] suntree_girl: I’m saying that, I have a fucking tough time. I am poor as hell. I have a mentally challenged kid. To go to college, I have to live with my mother. I put relationships and life on hold to get this college. So if you want it badly enough, look up how you can do it. Call people. research loans and grants.
[21:13] straight_people_bite: see i am kinda offended by your statement it makes me out to be un-educated and also stupid (or atleast that is how i take it) because i dont want to be friends or hangout with stuck up know it alls
[21:13] suntree_girl: get you one of those apartments by the airport, work at a gas station and go to school, walk there every day. it’s worth it
[21:13] straight_people_bite: it sounds so easy hehe
[21:13] suntree_girl: the statement was meant to let you know that you would likely meet more gay people to whom you can relate. It wasn’t meant as a personal attack.
[21:14] suntree_girl: it was also meant to pique your curiosity, because you might find there’s a lot more to life once you get on the path to learning
[21:15] straight_people_bite: the whole gay thing is hanging on a thread as well i mean as my mom put the other day it isnt exactley NORMAL now is it and i kinda agree. and i do want more but hey this is as good as it gets right now i only try to live day by day
[21:15] suntree_girl: what’s not normal?
[21:17] straight_people_bite: being gay (male or female) and i agree it isnt meant to be that way. sex is for reproduction not anything else. gay sex is just for pleasure honestley
[21:17] suntree_girl: hm. okay.
[21:17] straight_people_bite: so i see my flaws now and i dont mean to be narrow minded but i honestley am thinking in a different way now. because it has been pounded in my head so many times that it finally sank in
[21:18] suntree_girl: I don’t even have words for that.
[21:19] straight_people_bite: all i am saying is i get why ppl think its wrong and that i see there point and kinda agree though i am physically attracted to guys doesnt mean i have to act on that impulse see we have come full circle
[21:19] suntree_girl: If you are happy that way, good for you? I guess?
[21:20] straight_people_bite: no one in this life is happy i mean life is what it is and we cant change that we get dealt shitty hands sometime and we have to take em dont we
[21:21] suntree_girl: Good thing those early feminsts didn’t think that way.
[21:22] straight_people_bite: well every body has negative thoughts and vents about them
[21:22] suntree_girl: which is fine. But I honestly have nothing I think I can say about any of this.
[21:24] straight_people_bite: well see atleast i can admit my personal issues and my flaws no offense but i just think everybody needs to vent and i would love to have someone just give advice rather then getting all offended and hushing up
[21:25] straight_people_bite: but i dont want an argument so i am getting off but i am sorry if i have offended you becuz i didnt mean to
[21:25] suntree_girl: I’m not offended. Vent away. but thee really is a difference between venting and wallowing.
[21:25] suntree_girl: and I’m not going to perpetuate the latter.”

Pooka's Meme!

I'm in a better mood- prospective apartments and headway on the kid's placement has cheered me.

Also, I'm heavily drugged.

1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
A. Something like that.

2) What was your dream growing up?
A. To be a superhero.

3) What talent do you wish you had?
A. I wish I could sing. Mind you, I CAN..but no one wants to hear -that-.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A.Something fruity, and strong. and you'd only need one, then I'm everyone's best friend.

5) Favorite vegetable?
A. Tomato.

6) What was the last book you read?
A. Political science. Today. I had a test. The last fun book? I'm desperately trying to get through Colbert's book so I can give it back.

7) What zodiac sign are you?
A. ROAR! I'm the best- a leo.

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
A.Not yet. But soon. I'm designing the tat for my back. I also sort of want a branding.

9) Worst Habit?
A. Insecurity. At this point, it counts as a habit.

10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?
A. If you showed a little leg, sugar.

11) What is your favorite sport?
A. Running, if I have to name one.

12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
A. It depends on my mental stability. When I'm down, nothing is okay. When I'm normal, I am very positive.

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A. Really/ I'd be in the corner, hugging myself and sweating and trying desperately not to freak out and talking to you about anything to distract my severe claustrophobia.

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A. The last 4 months of my life have sucked seriuos balls. A few choice good parts aside.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
A. A lot of people like that I'm such a nice person. I actually hate that about myself.

16) Do you have any pets?
A. an insane cat!

17) What if i showed up at your house unexpectedly?
A.SCORE!!! movie nite and munchies!

18) What was your first impression of me?
A.I thought you were very welcoming and friendly.

19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
A. Annoying.

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A. I'm already changing the things I most dislike..next I suppose I'd choose to be able to have longer hair, without it looking ratty.

21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
A. Depends on the crime! I'm seceretly a ninja AND a bad girl!

22) What color eyes do you have?
A. Green.

23) Ever been arrested?
A. Not yet.
The descisons made for me, not by me

I continue to consider moving out, with increasing merit. Understand, my mother helps me a lot with my own kid, and so I have absolutely no objection to her brining my sister's kids here sometimes, to give my sister a little break.

The key points here being a) When I ask her to help me with my kid, I ASK her, and should she at any point say she is busy or unable, it then falls to me to hold up my responsibility as a parent and handle my own kid and b) my asking her does not make suppositions onto anyone else's time.

My mother took BOTH of my sister's kids for the evening. She -always- does this on a school night, knowing full well my neice must be at her school by a certain time the next morning, or she's tardy. She also, usually does this on a day when she knows I am not needed out of the house before then. She chose to do this last night, knowing full well she had at be at work at 7 am, which means I am now responsible for getting this neice to school, a 15 minute drive. At 8 in the goddamn morning.

In short, I'm getting really, really tired of people who dump responsibility onto me without asking, in a house I pay a full half rent and utilities on; people who will not return favors equally (I'm looking at my sister here- I pay her 20 bucks a day when I DO ask her to watch my kid); and in general, being held back by people who don't have their shit together.

I have a co-worker, who I will call L, who has, recently, for reasons unknown, decided to target me for complaints.

She's gone way over ym deptment manager's head and told another manager that I asked for days off a week before I got them (an impossibility) And that I sometimes take 45 minute breaks.

Mind you. I AM sometimes out of the lab for 45 minutes. DOING WORK. Just because I don't check in with her doesn't mean I'm wanking off.

So, I have no idea what this woman's problem is, but We all pretty much suspect she's tweaking- her erratic mood swings and the stalking of her boyfriend aside, this descision to attack ME- the nicest person she's likely to meet..is completely confusing and amusing.

Don't start nothing, ho, and there won't be nothing!

Oh, typing that grammer out like that hurt me inside...

Fucked up dreams.

I had CRAZY ass dreams last night. I know at some point J and D showed up- likely brought on by the fact that I actually spoke with J last night. Then I had a dream, where I was Starbuck in the BSG universe. I was aboard Galactica, but the Cylons had control of it, and we were stationed at Cylon-occupied New Caprica and we all had jobs to do, and mine was to read through pages of code every day looking for mistakes.

Needless to say, I was getting a little drunk before work, when Tigh came in and I gave him some of Adama's jello shots. (WTF?)

And now for the real nightmare. Work.

I fell down, in a burnin' ring of fire..

I need to read more. I need to write more. I know I need to RP more. Or at all?
I need a clone of myself.

Wait, we all know what happens then- LESS work will get done because we'll be molesting each other the whole time.

I need a robot. A monkey robot that will do my bidding.

So, snow interefered with my journey to NYC recently- I refer to the picture on my myspace page- but the girl nabbed me and took me to a new, awesome city (Columbus) I'd never been to and we had a blast. PRetty much anytime spent in the company of said girl is a blast, but she really does put so much effort into everything that I'm a little taken aback, not being used to being around or the subject of romantic interests that try so hard -and- think I'm well worth the effort.

Mind you, I'm taken aback, but in no way discouraging it. :D

The end of the world? or just a really pricey toy..

A discussion had over an implant that can cause a woman to orgasm at the press of a button.

http://skepchick.org/blog/?p=1013

[20:58] janothar: A bit expensive, and I can't help but wonder if the commenter who says that this will be the end of civilization isn't right
[20:59] JustinetheQueen: If orgasms are our main motivation for sex, then I'd say yes. But there are many people who value sex as communion, as intimacy and a way to be close to someone and really connect with them. If birth control wasn't the end of our civilization, this surely won't be.
[20:59] janothar: True.

Questions? Comments?

BURN!

I figured out how to use my treadmill's calorie program. Instead of measuring steps, it puts you through run periods and then lets you recover, then runs you again. It moves the incline levels up and down as it does this.

WAY way more effective and painful than what I've been doing. How many times a day can someone see a speed increase indicator flashing and yell "oh, FUCK you!" at machine? Only my living room, and possibly cat, know for sure! I lost count.

This Force of Nature

It's not just my name, or an idea. It's a metaphor for the real forces that move in all our lives, influencing us and effecting us. Just like karma, it's hard not to believe in something you see happen every day and just when it's needed.

I have a tendency to meet influential people at critical times in life, and always just when I've lost my direction. While they do not always supply me with direction, they do help me see things in ways I have either forgotten, or have never known. Sometimes they help you re-examine the direction you were going in, and maybe it wasn't always a good one.

It's better to have more tools to create with, than someone to tell you what to make.

If bad things can happen to good people, maybe sometimes good things can too.

So for now, I am happy.

From posting. I've been away, trapped by IRL and just generally busy as hell. I have a visitor coming in a few weeks, one that I have high hopes about, and I'm trying to undo YEARS of neglect and disorganization that my mother has allowed to build up into our home.

Meanwhile, I wanna say Hi to Dayringer whom I love, and Alice whom I adore, and the rest of you cyuuuute critters.

I feel like I want to apologize to all of you who I've not had time for, nor access to the net for. I'm really sorry about that. I -am- coming back, and we'll have many a chuckle together. Meanwhile, I stalk you all by phone. at inappropriate times, mostly. But part of my charm is that I annoy as well as inspire love.

Meanwhile, I'm mostly settled and working on some things to play when I am back for sure.

Gender Bias in the World of Freeky Creatures

"In Pokemon Diamond, you can choose from either a boy or a girl. No matter which one you chose, there is no difference in the story. However, it is reccomended that you chose a character with the same gender as yours."

Interesting. Why?

That's in the instruction book, verbatim.

hmm....

I am so fucking sick

Of fighting with family members about money. Today it's a row with my sister over our shared cell phone bill.

I don't know who pissed her off today, but she called here, 10 kind of pissy and demanding to know one, what our bill is, (I have the paper copy, because despite my asking her to do so several times, she hasn't yet changed the password to our online account to give me access so I can modify my numbers and monitor my charges)

Basicly, we have a 60 dollar a month plan, and I'm responsible for half of that, plus my 10 dollar a month line charge. She goes on about how most of the time she pays 90% of the bill, and my phone is only 10 a month and that's not fair. My response is that 35-40 is half of 70, so I don't see where she thinks she's paying 90%, especially considering MY phone doesn't have 10 bucks a month in ringtone and wallpaper charges.

I can't wait till I am done with college, And I am done sharing expenses with these people, and I can move far, far away.

Samurai Showdown.

I am sitting in my living room, typing away and making food, when I hear the sound of a panicked cat clawing the hell out of my window ledge.
I investgate, expecting to find one of the local boy cats trying to get next to my beaitful Nefertiti. I find this half soaked, completely terrified all white kitten. I reach down and sccop him up for comfort.

Out come the guy next door. You know..the one who beats the shit out of his girlfriend? And sees me with the cat. Conversation is as follows.

Me: Is this your cat?
Him: well. kinda.
Me: Here kitty, go to daddy..*tries to hand the cat over, and I kid you not, it -climbed my shoulders rather than go with him*
Him: I just chased it through that mud puddle and was going to let it keep going. I can't deal with it with the kids and all. Be careful, it claws. It clawed the shit out of me.
Me: *petting the docile cat* does it really.
Him: Yeah..you want it?
Me: I'll take care of it until I can find it a home.

With that I took the cat into my house. I don't think..he was trying to chase it. I think he was trying to drown it.

Oh yes, I did.

What in the HELL. I cannot move into anyplace, with the exception of my LAST apartment, where there isn't some crazy ass white trash couple beating the hell out of each other.

I was woke up this bright sunday morning, pissed off because this woman next door is screaming like the world is ending, and of course, I am both a light sleeper and I have a kid here, so I am up and ready to defend my territory and also half convinced I was having a nightmare.

From what I can tell from the noise, the girl next door is being bounced around quite a bit, someone was thrown against the balcony railing outside, and when I stuck my head out to get the number of thier apartment (which sense tells me I might as well memorize now) I heard that girl crying. If she wants to put up with that shit, and she wants to live like that, it's her choice..even though I know some people are conditioned over time to not be able to live in a non-abusive situation. But they have a baby in there.

So I called the Po. I don't even give a shit if they get pissed off or know it was me- this is the second Sunday morning this has happened, and I am fucking tired.

I'm also so glad this never happened to me.

I have decided to stay and fight.

This stolen title from a Margret Cho book pretty much sums up my feelings about a lot of things right now. I'm a classic 'avoidance' junkie- if something is too hard or difficult, I'll avoid it.

I'm learning now that I can't do that, and that if I'm going to make this life MY life, I have to be ready to take aggressive stances to secure what I want. Wanting things is not bad, I'm learning. And it's okay sometimes if what you want means someone else doesn't get it.
